Scott Barkow

Investment Management Consultant, Senior Vice President, Investments
Scott, a graduate of the University of Florida, joined Raymond James in 1987. He earned his Certified Financial PlannerTM designation in 1989 and is a specialist in the areas of portfolio management, retirement and estate planning, insurance and corporate finance. For corporate clients, Scott provides assistance with employee stock options, deferred compensation, restricted securities and corporate cash management.

Scott serves on the board of directors for Alper JCC, and is a member of the Business Technology Advisory Board for Dade County Public Schools and United Way of Miami Dade Endowment Committee

Pedro Foment

Pedro Forment is a partner in the Miami office of the national labor and employment firm of Ford & Harrison, LLP.  Pedro is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and is AV® Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.  Pedro focuses his practice in employment litigation and advice, with emphasis on discrimination and harassment cases, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, Title III, ADEA, state and federal whistleblower statutes, employment contracts/non-compete issues, and workplace environmental/toxic torts. 

Pedro is also actively involved as a Board Member for the Partner’s Board of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention; a Firm Representative to the Litigation Section of the American Bar Associations' Judicial Intern Opportunity Program; and, Mentor for the South Florida Minority Law Student Mentoring Program.

Charles Hibnick, CISSP
Chief Systems Security Architect

Charles Hibnick holds the title of Chief Systems Security Architect. He is responsible for the security and integrity of electronic data for AvMed Health Plans which has been serving members throughout Florida for over 35 years.  He has recently been assigned to chair the Corporate Business Continuity Committee with the goal to extend AvMed's business resiliency beyond their historically successful emergency response capabilities. Charles has a long history in the Information systems and Healthcare field in South Florida including hospital pharmacy automation as well as cardiac pacemaker manufacturing.

Mary Leckband, Ph. D.

Mary has been employed with the City of Miami for 10 years, and she currently is the Organization Development Specialist for the City.  Recent work at the City of Miami includes Mary as an active team member in the City’s Balanced Scorecard management process implementation; coordinating all departmental Change Agent activities citywide as part of the Change Management process; and being part of the team that designed and implemented the citywide management training program to align all management activities with the City’s strategic plan.   In addition to her work at the City of Miami, Mary has been recently named a Participating Faculty Member in the FIU School of Business, Masters in Human Resource Management Program.   Her community based activities include being a member of the City of Miami Mayor’s Mentoring Council, a member of the Miami-Dade School Board’s Business and Technology Education Advisory Committee, a local judge for the Future Business Leaders of America competition, and she is a Big Brother Big Sister of Greater Miami volunteer.  She has been recognized in Who’s Who in American Executives and Professionals, and is a member of MENSA.

Nadeen Medvin, Ph.D., DABPS, DABDA
Dr. Nadeen Medvin is a licensed and board-certified Clinical and Industrial-Organizational Psychologist.  Her professional practice spans over 20 years in providing individual, career, and corporate psychological services in public and private-sector settings.  She currently serves as the City of Miami Employee Assistance Program Administrator , responsible for coordinating and providing City wide employee assistance and wellness programs and services to enhance employee performance and organizational effectiveness. 

Dr. Medvin maintains adjunct faculty appointments at Florida International University and the University of Miami .  She is a published author and has presented work in the areas of human relations, leadership effectiveness, and organizational applications of psychological testing at professional meetings at the national and international level.  She is currently advisory board member of Dade County Public Schools Business Technology Programs, University of Miami School of Continuing and International Education, and Chief Learning Officer Magazine.

She has been awarded a Diplomate in Psychological Assessment, Evaluation and Testing by the American Board of Psychological Specialties, and a Diplomate in Disability by the American Board of Disability Analysts.  Other professional awards and designations she has received include: Fellow of the American College of Forensic Examiners, certification by the Florida Supreme Court in mediation, and recognition by Who’s Who in American Women and Who’s Who in Science and Engineering for contributions to the social sciences and business and industry.

 

Adela Morales

Adela is a native of Nicaragua.  She graduated, from UCA (Center American University) from the Agriculture Administration School (Bachelor Degree) in 1990, and started studying postgraduate courses the same year. She graduated from INCAE, with a major in Finance (Harvard Subsidiary – www.incae.edu), in Central America, in 1991.  She then moved to Miami and finished her postgraduate studies.

Her work experience includes 14 years working for The Miami Herald / Knight Ridder, which was recently purchased by  the McClatchy Corporation.  She is a member of the Miami-Dade School Board’s Business and Technology Education Advisory Committee and has served for the last four years as  judge for the Future Business Leaders of America competition. She started volunteering with United Way in 2004, as an Employee Campaign Manager.  She has been nominated to Who’s Who in American Executives and Professionals.

 

Dr. Kip Irvine

Dr. Kip Irvine is a Senior Instructor at the School of Computing and Information Sciences, Florida International University (2000-present).

He earned a M.S. in Computer Science and a Doctor of Musical Arts, both from University of Miami.  He was a Professor of Computer Information Systems at Miami-Dade College from 1983-1999. He has published five computer programming textbooks in the following areas: Intel Assembly Language, C++, Visual Basic, and COBOL, with Prentice-Hall and Addison-Wesley. He is a recent recipient of the Excellence in Service Award (2008) and Excellence in Teaching Award (2010) from the FIU School of Computing and Information Sciences. He is a Senior member of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery).
