INVENTORY  

It is the responsibility of the department head to maintain an accurate and up-to-date inventory listing of all software, equipment, and textbooks.  To obtain the district inventory form, go to http://bte.dadeschools.net/BTE-RoomForm.htm.  In addition, towards the end of the school year, you will be asked to secure from your teachers a list of needed equipment (wish list) to be submitted to the district office.  This form is sent to the principal before the end of the school year.  To obtain the form, please check with your principal.

Software

The software needed for computer labs can be purchased through TRC and SHI.  You can access their websites at http://it.dadeschools.net/buysoftware.htm.  There are two types of funding structures for the purchase of software—capitalized software and non-capitalized software. Capitalized software (software over $1,000.00) and non- capitalized software must have prior approval from the District Supervisor.  Supply funds can be used for the purchase of software with prior approval from the District Supervisor.

Equipment

Wish list requests facilitate the purchase of needed equipment.  In order for your department to receive equipment, a request must be submitted to the District Supervisor’s office at the end of each school year.  At the time of this printing, the district is on a four-year replacement cycle.  Thirty computers per lab is the standard replacement.  Other equipment needs will be considered according to the availability of funds.  Note*  Inventory must be done on-line at the beginning of the school year in order for computers to be replaced.

Textbooks

Each school has funds for the purchase of textbooks. It is the department head’s responsibility to request needed textbooks from his/her school’s budget.  On a limited basis, non-state adopted textbooks may be purchased with prior approval from the District Supervisor.
