who finished 5th in the Nation at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Denver, Colorado.
Bob Reisert from Coral Reef Senior High School for being selected at the DAVACCE Business Technology Education Teacher of the Year.

Deneb Espinosa from Miami Lakes Educational Center for being selected as the DAVACCE Outstanding Business Student.
Welkis Galeas from Coral Gables Senior High School for being chosen for the Supervisor's Award of Excellence.  She completed four courses in Business Administration with an average of 4.0.  Her overall average was 5.139.  She has won numerous awards and honors and has extensive community service.  She was a Silver Knight nominee for Business and just finished her term at FBLA State President.  She plans to attend Florida State University and major in Accounting.  Welkis received a plaque and a check for $250 from DCBTEA.

Congratulations to Brenda Andre for being selected Homestead's Teacher of the Year.

Ms. Tonya Alvarez and Dr. Lupe Ferran Diaz were recipients of a Miami Beach Education Foundation Grant donated by the Miami Beach Alumni Association.

This grant award of $500 will be used to promote community awareness of financial resources available to ESE students in each respective teacher’s Business class at Miami Beach Senior High School

Kenwood K-8 Center eighth-grade students are participating in the Stock Market Simulation Game sponsored by the Securities Industry Association of America.  On November 7, two students were invited to address the members of the Securities Association of America (SIA) at the annual meeting at the Boca Raton Hotel and Resort.  These 14-year olds had to speak to the members about their participation in the simulation game and about what they had learned while playing the game.  Their teacher is Maria GoldsteinThe Securities Industry Association made a donation in the amount of $1000 to purchase books and supplies for the BTE program.
